RED BELLA

Mi capita sempre più spesso di fare amicizia con autori poco noti, specialmente in Italia, tramite i miei contatti di facebook.  Uno-due messaggi  e alla  sua pagina sul social network, così è iniziato l’epistolario con l’autore  Bryant Bridgewaters e la scoperta della sua graphic novel, giunta la terzo volume. Sopra ci godiamo una sua illustrazione che rimarrà per un mese come copertina di questo blog; mentre tra qualche giorno  potremo ammirare un ricco preview del suo volume in uscita in estate.
 Cominciamo dalla sua presentazione.

My name is Bryant Bridgewaters.
I reside in Sacramento, California, and I am the artist and creator of the graphic novel series Red Bella. I first began work on Volume One in February 2008.  So far, I have three published books in the series. The Prologue was released in 2009 , with Volume 2 following shortly after in 2010. ‘Red Bella: Volume Three’ is scheduled for release in the summer of 2012. My web address is www.bellarossa.it 

Each page of Red Bella is traditionally illustrated.  Utilizing only mechanical pencils, prisma-colors, and ink pens. The use of digital techniques is strictly limited to the addition of text and speech bubbles. Grey scale tones are a trademark of Red Bella while splashes of color are used to highlight areas that are important to dialog and the overall story. On average, it takes me about 8-10 hours to complete the art for each page in the Red Bella series.
